CIPCON 2026 honours scholarship and service through five awards instituted by the Central Psychiatric Society — including memorial orations, research paper awards, and a Lifetime Achievement recognition. Registration is mandatory for all nominees and presenters.

A century of
scholarship.
Each award is governed by a published set of rules and is open to eligible members of the Central Psychiatric Society — Central Zone. Awarded papers and orations are published in the Indian Journal of Behavioural Sciences.

Memorial oration in honour of the late Dr. B.B. Sethi, a senior Fellow of the Society. Declared one year in advance at every annual conference.

Award
Best research paper based on work done in India, by a member of the Central Psychiatric Society — Central Zone. Eligible to compete for the Bombay Psychiatric Society Silver Jubilee Award.

Best paper award instituted from an endowment by Dr. Hemant Naidu in the memory of his late wife Mrs. Tara Naidu — to encourage research at the CPS-CZ conference.

Award
Bestowed in recognition of the applicant's lifelong contributions to psychiatry in India. Nominees should have a minimum 25 years of professional standing and be a life fellow of the Central Zone for at least 10 years.

Recognising the best poster paper presentation based on original work done in India in the field of psychiatry, by a member of CPS-CZ on any aspect of psychiatry. First, second and third awards available.

All nominations and papers must be submitted by 31st July 2026. Award-winning papers and orations become the property of the Indian Psychiatric Society — Central Zone and are published in the Indian Journal of Behavioural Sciences.

All submissions of nominations and papers for awards must be sent to the Awards Committee chairperson, with a copy marked to the co-chairperson. Please follow the structured abstract format outlined in each award's rules.
